Ms. Arjomand, I hope your press conference and trip to New York
went well. I opened your email just today because my computer was
out of commission due to home/office renovations.
I have spoken on numerous occasions to Iranian groups in Toronto
on behalf of Amnesty International. So please stay in touch and,
if you like, regard me as a contact for Amnesty materials and actions.
I have forwarded your email to Beth Berton-Hunter in the Amnesty
Toronto office, because she is our media liaison, so she too should
be kept aware of your activities.
I am sure you are aware of the wealth of human rights data about
Iran on the Amnesty web sites. For a listing of recent reports go

Dear Homa,
I am writing this as per your suggestion following our brief conversation
earlier today.
I have been closely following the contentious issue of Iran’s
plan to develop nuclear power. As you know, United States President
George W. Bush and a number of other world leaders have stated that
Iran is out to produce nuclear weapons, despite the denials of President
Ahmadinejad – who has said that Iran’s emerging nuclear potential
is for peaceful purposes only.
I would like to know your views on this topic, specifically the
very worrisome fact that the U.S. has not ruled out the use of force
against Iran should diplomacy fail in resolving this issue.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Martin Zeilig

P.S. I went to your website and watched the interview you gave
on TVO. Bravo!

Hello Ms. Arjomand,
Thank you for the press releases. I hope the trip to New York went
well
and I hope you're doing well since we last spoke. I don't know if
you're
back in Toronto, but I was hoping you might be available to speak
with us
on the Word of Mouth show tomorrow, Sep 21 between 7-8pm. Possibly
beginning between 7.10-15pm. We can also do the interview via phone.
It would be nice to share the experience of this trip and talk about
Iran
and human rights, as well as Canada's participation in the resolutions
accusing Iran of violating human rights.
Please feel free to contact via this email or at 416-545-5246. Thanks
again for the info.

Bruce Tefft has sent it to his list, and I am getting it back from
several other lists. I think a lot of people will know about it.
You really do cause a lot of trouble, don't you Elli?
Be well!

Homa jaan,

Subject: Intro to Ms. Homa Arjomand
Hi, John.
I wanted to let you know of an important development regarding
the approaching US visit of the Iranian President.
This information comes from Ms. Homa Arjomand, a friend who is
a Toronto-based Iranian expatriate. As you might know, Homa came
to prominence internationally, through her leadership of the successful
trans-national anti-Sharia campaign. She is also a dedicated campaigner
for human rights in Iran, as elsewhere.
I left a voicemail for Homa, yesterday, to see if she and her network
might wish to publicly take a position against Mr. Ahmadinejad's
visit. In my message, I noted my associates' particular interest
in having Canadian activists publicly demand that their government
commence extradition proceedings against Mr. Ahmadinejad, with the
advertised purpose of bringing him to justice in Canada.
As usual, Homa was ahead of events and today advises that she is
organizing a press conference on the Ahmadinejad matter. This is
scheduled for 2:00 pm, Monday, at the Provincial Legislature in
Toronto. She adds that, at 5:00 pm, several vans will depart that
location for New York City, where participants will join a major
anti-Ahmadinejad protest planned in the City.
Homa would very much like to speak to you about this situation.
If possible, she would like to make contact with your client in
this regard. Homa's phone number is 416.737.9500, and her e-mail
address is homawpi@nosharia.com.
On a personal note, I can say that my wife, colleagues and I have
been privileged to know Homa for quite some time, and through the
course of various human rights'-related struggles. I recommend her
without hesitation as an utterly dedicated, determined individual
with a sense of integrity, discretion and respect for confidentiality,
that is second to none.
Kind regards,
Dave

Hourray for this proposal. I fully support it.
There needs to be a concerted effort to do even more to demonstrate
our opposition to extremists who are slowly taking control of the
world.
We need to have demonstration(s) in countries around the world
(as was done to demonstrate against sharia law) to respond to the
extremists' reaction/action to various issues.
Let's do something to show our opposition to violence, bigotry
and racism.

I wish you well. Thank goodness you escaped... do not get tricked
into going back.
I certainly hope things change but looking at the last 100 years
does not give me
much hope.

equality for women ever be possible?
